Your perfect fit shouldn't be a guessing game. This page gives you real measurement charts, an interactive fit calculator, and honest guidance — so the piece you order is the piece you'll love.
How to measure correctly.
Three measurements. One soft tape. Two minutes. That's all you need to never worry about sizing again.
Bust
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it level under your arms and across your back. Don't pull it tight — just comfortably snug, no slack.
Waist
Find the narrowest point of your natural waist — usually just above the belly button, below the ribcage. Keep the tape parallel to the floor. This is not your jean size.
Hip
Stand with feet together. Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, usually about 8 inches below your waist. Keep the tape level all the way around.

What suits your shape.
Every body is different — and every shape has styles that make it look its best. Here's a starting point.
Hourglass
Bust and hips balanced, defined waist. Looks stunning in fitted kurtis, wrap styles and belted co-ords.
Pear
Hips wider than bust, defined waist. A-line kurtis, boot-cut trousers and flowy dresses balance beautifully.
Apple
Fuller midsection, slimmer legs. Empire-waist kurtis, V-neck tops and straight-cut tunics flatter most.
Rectangle
Bust, waist and hip similar widths. Layered styles, peplum tops and ruffled kurtis create shape.
Why sizing goes wrong.
After thousands of orders, we've seen the same sizing mistakes repeat. Here's how to avoid each one.
Measuring over thick clothing
Measure over light clothing or undergarments only. Denim, sweaters and even thick kurtis can add 1–2 inches — completely changing your size.
Pulling the tape tight
The tape should sit snug but comfortable, not squeeze. A tight measurement can make you order one size too small — the most common return reason.
Assuming jeans size = dress size
Your jeans size is not your kurti size. Denim sizes vary wildly between brands, while our clothing sizes follow a consistent bust-waist-hip chart.
Measuring yourself (twice)
Self-measurement is fine for bust and hip — but for the waist, ask someone to help. Twisting to see the tape moves your waist and gives wrong numbers.
Assuming size is static
Bodies change — after pregnancy, weight fluctuations, or fitness routines. Re-measure every 6 months to keep your sizing accurate.
Ignoring fit preference
A "fitted" customer and a "relaxed" customer can be the same size but order differently. Always factor in how you like clothes to sit before choosing.
Still unsure about your size?
Send us your measurements on WhatsApp — bust, waist, hip — and we'll recommend the right size for you before you order. No guesswork, no awkward returns.
Your sizing questions.
Real answers to the sizing questions we get on WhatsApp every day.
What if I'm between two sizes?
Always go with the larger size if you prefer a relaxed fit, or the smaller size if you like a fitted look. If your bust matches one size and your waist another, always order based on your bust measurement — it's the hardest to alter.
Do your sizes run small, true to size, or large?
Softgarments runs true to the chart. If you measure your bust at 34 inches, you'll fit comfortably into a M in our kurtis. Our garments are cut slightly generously for Pakistani body types — not the "slim-cut" style of Western fast fashion brands.
Can I change my size after ordering?
Yes — before dispatch. Message us on WhatsApp with your order details and the size you'd like instead. Once the parcel is shipped, you can still exchange sizes after delivery — see our Return Policy.
Are your measurements in inches or centimetres?
All charts on this page use inches. To convert: 1 inch = 2.54 cm. For example, a 34-inch bust is 86.4 cm. If you prefer working in centimetres, message us and we'll send you a cm version of any chart.
Do you offer custom sizing or tailoring?
Not currently. Softgarments produces in standard sizes XS through XXL to keep quality consistent and prices fair. We may offer custom tailoring in the future — if you'd like it, let us know on WhatsApp and we'll add you to the interest list.
My bust and hip are different sizes — what should I do?
For kurtis and tops, order based on your bust. For bottoms and trousers, order based on your hip. For dresses and co-ord sets, order based on your bust size — it's easier for a tailor to adjust at the waist than at the bust.
How accurate is the height & weight method?
The height-weight method is a rough estimate, accurate for about 80% of customers. It uses BMI calculation and is a good starting point, but for anything formal or fitted — always use measurements instead. Take the extra 2 minutes.
Will the fabric shrink after washing?
Our cotton and lawn are pre-shrunk during production, so you won't see significant shrinkage. As a rule, wash cold, dry in shade, and avoid high-heat ironing — this preserves both size and colour. A care card is included in every parcel.
Do I need to measure differently for co-ord sets?
Co-ord sets have two parts — the top and the bottom. Measure your bust, waist and hip and use the co-ord chart above. If your bust and hip land in different sizes, order the set based on your bust and let us know your hip measurement on WhatsApp — we'll confirm if it will work.
What if I've never measured myself before?
You're not alone — many first-time customers haven't. Just message us on WhatsApp and we'll walk you through it step by step. Or use our Fit Calculator above with just your height and weight — it will give you a starting size you can refine later.
